Thank you for applying to the Hatstand Green Berets Programme.

Hatstand is a niche IT consultancy headquartered in the City of London. We employ IT professionals with 1-6 years of industrial experience to provide IT services to our financial services clients.

Prior experience in financial services is not required but you should have an interest in building a career in this area. Graduates of all disciplines are considered.

Key facts about the Hatstand Green Berets Programme:

  • 2 year, full time programme within an Investment Bank
  • You will be employed by Hatstand and work full time at the client’s site
  • The package will include:
    • health insurance and/or pension
    • pay rise and/or completion bonus
    • generous training budget
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK for the full two years, and we expect applicants to have at least one year of relevant work experience

If you do not wish to proceed on this basis, please email us immediately with ‘Application withdrawal’ in the subject line and your name to: greenberets@hatstandconsulting.com.

Selection Process

Stage 1 - Selection

Should you be shortlisted, you will be contacted by our team to arrange an interview within 3 business days of your application.

Stage 2 – Selection interview

Your interview with Hatstand will cover the following areas:

  • A quiz of your basic knowledge of Investment Banking and Finance as well as the current affairs that are effecting the economy today
  • A discussion of your work experience
  • Technical and logical questions including a programming exercise if relevant
  • Situational questions
  • More information about the role and prospective client.

Stage 3 – Final qualification for the Programme

If you are successful with your interview you will be sent an online technical test to complete. These you can do at home, within one week of meeting us. You will then be put forward to the client / role you have been shortlisted for, subject to your overall performance.

Stage 4 – Client interview

Should the client select you for interview, this will take the form of a face to face interview at the client site.

Stage 5 – Acceptance

You will receive an offer letter, Statement of Particulars and Employee Handbook.

Prior to your first day with the client you will be invited to our offices for an Induction to the team and our processes. As part of this meeting any immediate training requirements will be discussed and organized. This analysis will be done as needed throughout the programme.

Performance appraisals

You will have a performance appraisal every 6 months. You and the client will each be required to complete a form, which will be sent to the HR Manager who will conduct the review with you.

Training

Within the first 6 months of joining, you will attend an “Introduction to Financial Markets/Investment banking” training course.

All other training is identified by the client at the time of the initial offer, in the 6 monthly performance appraisals and on an ‘as needed’ basis.
