Java Application Support Analyst/Web Support Analyst/Engineer/Java Developer Java application support/Web Support analyst/Senior Developer required by leading Open source client in the South East/Berkshire region. Successful candidates will get the chance to work in an incredibly varied position, covering many responsibilities from development, support, refactoring, performance tuning and troubleshooting various areas of the clients software on a wide variety of deployment platforms. Candidates will have strong core Java development and RDBMS skills. Candidates must have had exposure with the majority of the following technologies; - Core Java technologies/Multithreading - J2EE/Servlets/Portlets - Web Application Servers (Tomcat, Apache SpringSource, HTTP Server, JBoss, Weblogic/WebSphere etc.) - JVM Optimisation and performance tuning - Database knowledge (any of PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, Jackrabbit etc) - Familiarity with LDAP, Virtualisation, Unix/Linux, Lucene/SOLR, Clustering and JIRA/Bamboo/Fisheye Strong communication skills are requires as the role requires liaison with various in-house teams whilst maintaining contact with the existing support/development teams.
