Scala, F#, Haskell, Google Guice, Developer, Greenfield, Core Java, threading, CXF, GUI, MQ Series, Concurrency, Linux, London, Investment Bank, finance, trading systems Java Developer - 100% Greenfield 5 Year Project Java Developer - Threading, bank, FX An opportunity has arisen at London's leading investment bank for a strong core Java developer to re-write a 20 year old Legacy FX system based on Mainframe technology. This is an extremely rare opportunity given that you will have a big part to play in helping to design the new system. The new system will be developed using the latest Java stack, Spring, Hibernate, high speed messaging. The group is also piloting Scala for certain projects. You will expected to work on a peer to peer basis with some of the UK's best technologists and designers of fault tolerant, high performance Java code. The new database schema due to be designed this year will be deployed in DB2. This too will be a completely Greenfield project. Essential Technical Skills: - Strong core Java (highly multithreaded, Real Time programming), ideally Java 6. - Spring and Hibernate expertise - Unix or Linux - Messaging (ideally MQ Series) - Strong relational database skills preferably DB2 or Sybase - Test Driven Development, Agile, Scrum (this group is run by an Agile evangelist) Preferred - Knowledge of the securities lending business - Google Guice - Scala, F#, Haskell (any functional programming) - Excellent Communication Skills - Strong team player The
