Dear Educator,
The QS-APPLE (Asia-Pacific Professional Leaders in Education) Annual Conference brings together international educators, senior academic administrators and government officials from across Asia-Pacific and the world. The mission of QS-APPLE is "to build world-class universities for Asia-Pacific communities through global partnership and collaboration" and the Annual Conference offers delegates the opportunity to network, exchange best practice and better understand the rapidly changing face of higher education in the Asia-Pacific — the world's most populous and fastest-growing region.
Call for proposals extended to 31 May 2013
The success of the QS-APPLE Annual Conference since its inception in 2005 has been the active engagement of university leaders, academics and senior administrators, who have contributed to the conference programme by sharing their experiences, providing case studies of internationalisation and taking part in constructive debate about the internationalisation of students, faculty and the curriculum.
For 2013, a number of colleagues from across Asia have requested extensions to the original submission deadline, which meant that when the International Academic Advisory Committee met at Taipei Medical University last week (3 – 4 April), a number of proposals were still outstanding. The Committee decided, in the interests of equity, to extend the deadline for all colleagues to 31 May 2013. Conference Tracks for 2013 The 9th QS-APPLE Conference will be organised around six broad tracks.

Criteria for Evaluation of Proposals
The conference programme is managed by the QS-APPLE International Academic Advisory Committee, a committee of independent senior academics and international administrators representing the main Asia-Pacific countries. Its role is to design a balanced programme of informative and thought-provoking sessions. In evaluating proposals for inclusion in the conference programme, the International Academic Advisory Committee is looking for presentations that will be objective, interactive and promote learning and discussion amongst delegates.
