Safe Banking.
Follow these safety tips while transacting at an ATM.
DOs
Use the ATM in complete privacy.
Beware of suspicious movement of people around the ATM. Do not engage in conversation with them.
Look for extra devices attached to the ATMs, these may capture your confidential data.
Shield your PIN from onlookers by covering the keypad.
Press 'CANCEL' and ensure that the 'Welcome screen' is displayed before you leave the ATM.
Ensure that you collect your card before you leave.
Register your mobile number for alerts on your ATM transactions. Immediately report any unauthorized transaction.
Inform your bank immediately if your ATM / Debit Card is lost, stolen or held back at an ATM.
While destroying your card, cut it into four pieces through the magnetic strip before disposing it off.
DON'Ts
Never lend your card to anyone.
Do not write your PIN on the card.
Never share your PIN, or seek help from anybody by handing over the card and revealing the PIN.
Never let anyone see the PIN while you are entering it.
Never use a PIN that can be easily guessed. e.g. birthday, telephone number, etc.
Never leave your card at the ATM.
